Who is Gastón Álvarez?

Gastón Álvarez is a native of Mexico City, a technology lover, and a self-taught multimedia production enthusiast with over 20 years of experience collaborating with various studios all around the world.

Since 2006, i´ve mastered various roles on and off set, including Camera Operator and Manager, Drone Operator, Music Producer, Online Producer, Audio and Video Editor, Color Correction, Mograph and VFX Compositor, VFX Supervisor, DIT, Data Wrangler, VTR Operator, Mocap & Camera Tracking Supervisor, and is recently completing a specialization as a Virtual Production Supervisor. Since 2025 i´m Zeiss Power User for different technologies, Aximmetry Ambasador in México & Member of the VES (Visual Effects Society)

01. Virtual Production Supervisor

As a Virtual Production Supervisor, I oversee the integration of live-action and computer-generated imagery (CGI) during film and television production. I manage the virtual production process, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments, coordinating technology and equipment, and maintaining the creative vision while optimizing workflow efficiency.

02. DIT (Digital Image Technician)

As a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT), I manage digital media throughout film, TV, and commercial productions. I ensure the quality of captured footage, perform color correction on set, manage data backup, and facilitate the workflow between camera and post-production teams, ensuring a smooth transition from capture to editing.

03. VFX Supervisor

I oversee the creative and technical execution of visual effects, ensuring seamless integration between live-action footage and digital elements, from pre-production through final delivery.

04. Camera Tracking Operator & Supervisor

I generate and validate camera tracking solutions, ensuring spatial, lens, and motion accuracy for reliable downstream VFX work.

From pre-production to project delivery, I assist in the execution of each process, because every project is special.
